Happy New Moon in Scorpio. Happy sounds like an ironic word to use being that Scorpio season is intense, provocative, and mysterious. However, it is a joyful time in the sense that we are starting a new lunar cycle!
During the New Moon in Scorpio, the Universe is asking us to take a second to become aware of the triggers, wounds, and traumas that distract us — and transform them into lessons that can be viewed as blessings.
This week, I was given a glimpse at my fears and was feeling incredibly anxious. It took about 3 days for me to truly pinpoint the problem and to realize that my perspective was off.
What happened to me represents what this New Moon symbolizes. That is why I am sharing.
Before I go more into the details of my intense week, let’s first discuss the meaning of Scorpio and its planetary ruler, Pluto. Scorpio is a constellation: a group of stars in the sky. When planets travel through Scorpio, it makes the planet symbolized in our personalities more intense and dark. If you follow DosesofAstrology, you know that I believe that Planets represent characters in our minds trying to achieve a goal. For example; Pluto is the planet that wants us to heal our past. Whereas Venus represents the character that wants to relate to others.
When planets travel through the Scorpio constellation, it makes the planet go through a rebirth. For example; when Venus transits through Scorpio, it can transform the way we relate to others. When Venus transits Scorpio, the Venusian character is being challenged to really look at the relationships in one’s life and consider the purpose and meaning of those people. Do they add value? Are they encouraging growth? By the end of the transit, we are able to feel a sense of empowerment and renewal.
My point in bringing this up is to help you understand the power behind the energy of Scorpio. Scorpio asks us to deepen, penetrate, purge, eliminate, expel, heal, and purify ourselves.
With that being said, many of us millennials were born with Pluto in Scorpio. Pluto rules Scorpio. As I mentioned, it is the planet that wants to look deeper and analyze or investigate our inner demons. Many millennials are passionate about therapy and finding other forms of healing. We are looking to take control over our lives and transform our wounds.
Why do our demons exist and how can we learn from them? With Pluto in Scorpio at the time of our birth, a lot of us (born between November 1983 and November 1995) are looking to heal and transform our lives. Pluto LOVES being in Scorpio. Pluto thrives in Scorpio. If you’ve gone through a lot of chapters of change, look to see if you are Scorpio Rising or have an emphasis of Scorpio in your chart.
Now that I have explained the intricacies of Scorpio, let’s discuss this New Moon and how my week symbolized this entire lunar cycle.
In my case, my inner demon told me I wasn’t good enough to be successful. I was wasting my time. I was doomed to fail. No point in trying. I was comparing myself to influencers who had huge followings and to other people with many clients. My glass was half full.
However, today, I woke up feeling different. I had a huge epiphany. I realized everything that I went through on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were here to help me realize what it means to feel anxious and how to transform those feelings into positivity. These were exactly the feelings I needed to experience in order to have something to share with you guys. What I went through is what the Scorpio New Moon is all about.
This wasn’t just a random epiphany. I spent Monday in a dark place. Tuesday, I was annoyed that I was stuck and sarcastically shared what I was going through with a few close friends. By Wednesday evening I started to get clarity when I went on a five-mile hike with my mom. At first, I struggled to open up because I didn’t want her to think I was a victim. As most mothers do, she was able to pull it out of me and we discussed my thoughts. She of course reminded me that “Rome wasn’t built in a day” but that wasn’t what hit me. As our hike ended and the conversation shifted to her life, I found her also talking about the things she desired. It felt like I was talking to myself. Listing what she wanted versus focusing on the things she already had. That’s when I realized, gratitude was the only answer. Focusing on all the incredible opportunities I have in my life.
There are so many tools for self-awareness and it is different for everyone. For me, it helps to talk, write, and reflect. For others, it’s to work out and sweat. For some, it’s intense psychotherapy.
Scorpio season is about locating our triggers and analyzing our wounds. It’s about talking through our struggles and finding the tools to heal — realizing that these feelings are truly just blessings.
During the New Moon, try to meditate on any triggers you most recently felt. Ask the Universe to help you resolve them.
Thank you for making me aware of my inner wounds. I see them as opportunities for growth and I am grateful for my ability to transform them into blessings.
Hope this was helpful and you have an incredibly transformative lunar cycle! Much love,
