How Organization and My Mental Health Are Connected

Listen, we all get unorganized after a crazy week. Clothes are everywhere, mail has piled up, and don’t even talk about laundry! I find when my surroundings are a mess, I’m a mess. It’s like my anxiety has ticked up, and I need to focus. Well, the best thing to do when feeling anxious is put that energy to work.

Every Sunday, I organize what that week brought to me, so come Monday, I can have a great start to the week with no anxiety in sight! I hang up all of my clothes that found their way to “the chair” (please tell me it’s not just me who has a chair that gets piled in by clothes I don’t wear). I put back all the things that have decided to come out of its drawers and do the laundry!

If I want to be extra detailed, I recently got some organizers from the Container Store, so everything really does have its place—a.k.a. I have a fighting chance for weeks to come. Remember, a clean space is a happy place, and it can even help improve the state of your mental health.
