Can you all believe that the baby is almost here!? I did my research and looked up what others put on their list, talked to my doula for what should definitely be on my list and I do have to say it is overwhelming. Every part of the process of getting ready for a baby can be a lot. I have a feeling that these lists have gotten bigger and bigger over the years as my mom did not bring any of the stuff we are prepared to bring. However, a lot of the items on the list do help create a more comforting environment in a hospital so I wanted to share with you guys what was on my list!
The Essentials
- Birth plan
- Insurance card and ID
- Cord bank kit
- Birthing ball
- Stool softener
- Disposable Heating pad
- Donut seat cushion
- Phone chargers
- Polaroid camera
- Toilet paper (I heard the hospital toilet paper is super thin!)
Wardrobe
- Frida baby hospital kit (this includes everything you mainly need. Delivery and nursery gown, because who wants to wear that ugly hospital gown? Socks, postpartum underwear, instant ice maxi pads, perineal cooling pads, and healing foam)
- Slippers (with traction, mine are from Parachute)
- Adidas Sandals (specifically to take a shower in!)
- Robe
- Pajamas
- Nursing bra
- Nursing pads
- Nursing pillow

- Nipple cream
- Stool softener
- Belly Bandit
- Going home outfit (Max Roux sweats for me)
Ambience & Comfort
- Bluetooth speaker with a calming music playlist
- Battery operated candles to create a more spa-like vibe
- Crystals
- Cozy blanket
- Your own Sheets (ones to dispose of after)
- Bluetooth speaker (with a calming music playlist!)
- Phone chargers
- Your own pillows
Grooming Needs
- Shower essentials (I got this Aesop travel kit!)
- Face wipes
- Mask (in case you want a spa experience)
- Hair ties
- Dry shampoo
- Hand sanitizer
- Pads or Depends (whichever you feel comfortable using)
For Baby
- Car seat installed
- Going home outfit for baby (don’t forget socks, mittens, and hat. Also I brought two sizes of the outfit in case she’s bigger than expected)
- Diapers (Coterie is what I use)
- Bath soap for baby (Wiley Body Bubble)
- Swaddle
- Blanket (my grandma knit her a special one)
What did you bring to the hospital for your delivery? Let me know if I’m missing anything on Instagram!
