Scorpio Season is Here to Create Deeper Connections

11.02.2023 — Brittany Beringer

Autumn just wouldn’t feel complete without an intense energy a la Scorpio season. That’s right, star angels, the devoted and mysterious Scorpio is here, and no—your emotions will not be spared. Instead, the next weeks are about deepening our connections and stepping into our personal power, whatever that looks like to you. Scorpio season has a way of mustering up our deepest fears and desires, but ultimately, this is an era of transformation. Are you ready?

Welcome to Scorpio Season!

Around Oct. 23 and Nov. 22 of each year, the sun moves into Scorpio, adding a forbidden taste for the darker corners of life: sex, death, and the occult. Scorpio is sometimes referred to as the dark horse of the zodiac—and for good reason! The water sign’s viscousness is related to Greek mythology, where a scorpion stung the mighty hunter Orion, which speaks to why Scorpius rises in the sky as Orion sets. If you feel a little protective and a bit on edge, you might have Scorpio season to thank for that.

Besides the fact that Scorpio season always arrives days before Halloween, there are a few astrological reasons for Scorpio’s feisty and—let’s be honest—spooky reputation. For starters, Scorpio is ruled by Pluto. You know, the heavenly body associated with death, power, and sex—that Pluto. Because of that, Scorpio season often tests our ability to assert ourselves and may cause power struggles within your relationship or at work.

Since Scorpio is an emotional water sign, the next several weeks can be especially intense when it comes to our deep wells of emotion. Not only can we expect our hidden desires and emotions to bubble up to the surface, but a deeper longing for intimacy and emotional connection with our love interests and closest friends as well.

Seasonal Forecast

Scorpio season kicks off with a chilling full moon lunar eclipse in Taurus on Oct. 28. This eclipse in particular may bring about twists and turns when it comes to your relationships, finances, and even your sense of self-worth. But it’s not for the worst! This eclipse conjuncts Jupiter, which may bring a stroke of luck and optimism. In other words, if aspects of your relationship has gone sour or have been struggling with your self-worth, this lunation may feel extra empowering.

Ending its almost five-month journey in retrograde, tough-as-nails Saturn finally stations direct on Nov. 4. Meaning, the long-term projects that you started to lose faith in—specifically the creative ones—will soon come together. Plus, expect to reap the rewards from the obstacles you’ve been facing recently. Expect your social life to buzz once Venus moves into its home sign of Libra on Nov. 8, which also allows us to become more balanced and understanding of all perspectives of a situation.

When chatty Mercury moves into thrill-seeking Sagittarius on Nov. 9, there’ll be virtually nothing getting in the way of you being honest, especially when it comes to your emotional and—erm, intimate needs. While new moons are typically harbingers of fresh starts, the new moon in Scorpio on Nov. 13 pushes us to let go of grudges and make room for energy that allows us to thrive in our newfound sense of authority.
